Milan saw a second day of clashes between youths and police around Piazza Duomo on Sunday, October 18, with bottles thrown, stores ransacked and property destroyed by mostly black-clad vandals, according to Le Monde.

Police arrested about 70 people since Saturday, according to the Ansa news agency, and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called a security meeting for Monday. The clashes began on Saturday on the sidelines of a sanctioned demonstration against the high cost of living.
