Russia’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment told the TASS news agency that projected output on the country’s continental shelf amounts to 23 million tonnes of oil and 53 billion cubic metres of gas in 2026, with 2027 forecast at the same level, in line with the technical design documentation for the fields.

The figures are projected levels set in the fields’ technical documentation and do not correspond to volumes already extracted, according to the ministry. Russia has 75 oil and gas fields on the continental shelf, 20 of them already producing.
