Typhoon Dujuan churned along Japan’s east coast on Monday, prompting authorities to urge more than 1.9 million people to evacuate and to cancel hundreds of flights, according to the BBC.

The 25th typhoon of the season is not expected to make landfall but could bring record rainfall near Tokyo, with landslide warnings in Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa and Shizuoka prefectures, according to The Independent. Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported more than 1 million people under evacuation advisories and power outages along the east coast, and United Press International (UPI) reported grounded planes and trains in the central Chubu region.
