Interpol elected Brazilian Valdecy Urquiza as its secretary-general on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, with 118 votes, according to the Russian state agency TASS, which cited a briefing by Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in Beijing.
