Jaishankar met in New York with his Russian and Iranian counterparts, Sergey Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi, on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Jaishankar said he discussed bilateral issues and BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) cooperation with Lavrov. Russia’s Foreign Ministry said, according to TASS, that the two discussed the Ukraine crisis and the situation in the Middle East. With Araghchi, the Indian minister said he discussed the latest developments in the Gulf conflict.
