A U.S. appeals court upheld on September 25, 2026 the Pentagon’s decision to exclude Anthropic from its supply chain, according to Le Monde.

The appeals court sided with the Pentagon in its fight with the artificial intelligence (AI) company, ruling that it is a supply chain risk, according to the Washington Times. The conflict began in February, when Anthropic refused Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth’s demand to remove restrictions on the use of Claude for fully autonomous lethal weapons.
