Najaf International Airport suspended all flights to and from Iran from 7 p.m.

EDT on Thursday, September 24, 2026 (2 a.m. Friday in Najaf), until further notice, on official instructions, Shafaq News reports. All inbound and outbound flights between Iran and Najaf were cancelled, leaving pilgrims stranded in Tehran, according to WANA.
