Telecom and internet networks stopped working in Tigray on Friday, 25 September 2026, amid the escalation of fighting in northern Ethiopia.

Services run by state-owned Ethio Telecom were completely cut, the BBC reported, and internet monitor NetBlocks detected a disruption corresponding to reports of a telecoms blackout in the region, Al Jazeera reported.
