The United Arab Emirates barred Iranian airlines under pressure from United States (US) sanctions on Iran's aviation sector, according to Al Jazeera.

The move follows Operation Economic Outcast, in which the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned 36 targets tied to the sector on September 8.
