Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez, the Venezuelan man shot by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Austin on Sunday, is being held at the South Texas ICE Processing Center in Pearsall and still has a bullet lodged in his back, according to the office of his attorney, Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, cited by NBC News.

The attorney says his wife and family have not been allowed to see him and have received no information about his condition or whereabouts. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says he is under a final order of removal and in custody pending deportation, and the shooting is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the FBI.
