Rebels in Ethiopia’s Tigray region seized local airports and launched attacks into the neighbouring Afar and Amhara regions, saying they were once again in “full-blown war” with the federal government, RFI reports, citing AFP.

Ethiopian forces battled overnight to repel an assault in the Afar region, while monitor NetBlocks recorded an internet disruption in the north of the country, consistent with a telecoms blackout in Tigray.
