China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25 at the invitation of Donald Trump.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that Trump will greet Xi at Joint Base Andrews when he arrives on Wednesday and that the state dinner is set for Thursday; according to the agency, the first state visit by a Chinese leader in more than a decade has trade, rare earths and artificial intelligence on the agenda, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent meets Vice Premier He Lifeng over the weekend.
