European Union (EU) member states approved the terms to release €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility, the fund the bloc uses to finance military aid to countries outside it, in support of Ukraine, according to Kaja Kallas, the bloc’s top diplomat, as cited by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Of the total, €900 million go to the EU Military Assistance Mission for Ukraine, €1 billion finances new joint procurements and €4.7 billion are set aside to compensate participating countries, according to TASS. The money refunds governments for military aid already delivered, Reuters reports, in a text carried by Cyprus Mail.
