Israeli aircraft and artillery struck southern Lebanon again on Monday, hitting villages in the Tyre, Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun districts, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) and the Anadolu news agency.

On Sunday, the two agencies reported, phosphorus munitions set olive groves and citrus orchards ablaze in Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district, and three Merkava tanks advanced to Deir Mimas, blocking the town’s entrance and damaging utility poles. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had already said Israel’s operations undermine the June framework agreement brokered by the United States, which calls for the Lebanese army to gradually take control of the south.
