Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Friday, 25 September 2026, that two giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, will be sent to the Atlanta zoo in the coming days, according to CNBC.

Xi called the panda an “envoy of friendship” between Chinese and Americans, a goodwill gesture during his summit with Donald Trump, according to The Washington Post.
