Typhoon Dujuan has killed two people in Japan, in landslides in Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures, according to local governments cited by Japanese media, including the Kyodo news agency, and by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Early on Tuesday the storm had moved away from the coast and was heading northeast out to sea with weaker winds, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). Japan Airlines cancelled 135 flights and All Nippon Airways (ANA) cancelled 140, and more than 9,000 households near Tokyo lost power, according to AFP. The rain forced the early closure of the Tokyo Game Show, one of the world’s biggest video-game trade fairs, on Monday, its final day, and led to the cancellation of a music festival and a baseball game in Chiba.
