Children in southern Lebanon have returned to a school destroyed by an Israeli strike as the academic year begins, according to AFP.

The war in southern Lebanon is confronting the education sector with a new test, with schools among the institutions hardest hit by Israeli bombardment, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said in a July warning that 340 public and private schools had sustained varying degrees of damage and 17 had been completely destroyed, according to Arab News.
