Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Thursday, September 24, 2026, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st General Assembly, behind closed doors and without statements to the press, according to Russian state agency TASS.

The meeting had been on the schedule since Monday, when UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said it was set for Thursday evening.
