Aircraft from the Saudi-led coalition struck the Hayfan district of Yemen’s Taiz province, Houthi-run al-Masirah television reported, according to Middle East Eye; the channel gave no details on casualties or damage.

The strike comes as Houthi forces advance across western Yemen and claim control of much of the Red Sea coast, moving towards the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, one of the world’s central shipping routes. Senior Houthi official Mohamed al-Bukhaiti told The Associated Press (AP) that the group could fight on multiple fronts if foreign states join the conflict, and that its Red Sea operations target Saudi Arabia. He said US and other foreign vessels are not among the targets. The United Nations (UN) says hostilities in Yemen have displaced at least 125,000 people since the beginning of September, according to Middle East Eye.
