Paramount Skydance reached a settlement on Monday with California and eleven other states that had sued to block its merger with Warner Bros.

Discovery, Bloomberg and Reuters reported. According to Bloomberg, the states secured independent editorial boards for CBS and CNN; the Los Angeles Times reports the deal includes $1.5 billion in California production and a commitment not to sell either studio. On Thursday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allowed foreign investors to hold 49.5 percent of the company’s equity — 38.5 points of it from sovereign funds in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, which are putting in $24 billion with no voting rights.
