Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortened his trip to the United States and returned home on the night of Thursday, 24 September 2026, right after addressing the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly, according to Dawn.

His stay in New York was limited to a few hours, and the immediate departure after the speech was reported by Israel’s public broadcaster Kan, carried by Middle East Eye. The decision not to extend his stay followed a recommendation from security officials presented to Netanyahu in talks held in the previous days, Channel 13 reported, cited by Dawn.
