About 50 opposition supporters protested in Caracas on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, outside the office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) against the participation of Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, in the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Andrés Velásquez, a former governor and leader of the La Causa R party, said Rodríguez ‘does not represent Venezuela’ and that the only point of interest for Venezuelans in her meeting with US President Donald Trump is the setting of a date for presidential elections, according to EFE and Agence France-Presse (AFP). Protesters held banners in Spanish and English against Rodríguez and against what they call US tutelage over the country.
