Russia raised frozen pollock fillet exports to the European Union (EU) by 16% in volume and 44% in value between January and July 2026, according to calculations by the analytical centre of the Russian Fish Union, published by TASS, which cites Eurostat data. Sales totaled 113,000 tonnes worth US$ 513 million in the period, and Russia's share of the European market for the product rose from 44% to 51% by weight, keeping the country as the largest supplier. Frozen cod exports stood at 6,300 tonnes (US$ 58 million) and frozen cod fillets at 6,400 tonnes (US$ 78 million). The figures come from the industry body itself, and the EU maintains bans on higher-value Russian fish products.
