Amnesty International has called for the abolition of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency in a report published on Thursday, September 24, 2026, according to the organization itself. The report “We Had Whistles, They Had Guns” documents widespread human rights violations by ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other federal agencies during immigration operations in Chicago, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, New Orleans and Washington, DC, the group reports.
