A ballistic missile hit Hayfan in Taiz governorate and killed four Yemenis from the same family, including three children, on Wednesday, according to Middle East Eye. Houthi-run al-Masirah TV blamed the killing of three children and a woman, with four other children wounded in the same district, on a Saudi airstrike.

On November 3, Yemeni Interior Minister Ibrahim Ali Haidan accused Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of sending military instructors to command Houthi combat operations, develop missile and drone programs and coordinate attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, according to TASS.

Hezbollah denied the allegations and said the Yemeni authorities' statements about support for the Houthi offensive, military training and rearmament are “completely baseless”, adding that “the Yemeni people have sufficient capabilities, resources, and experience to defend their country without external support.”

The Houthis have encircled Taiz since early October and are blocking the road linking the city to Aden, the interim seat of the internationally recognized government. UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher said roads are closed, water production has halved and food prices have risen by at least 50%.

Saree urged international airlines, their employees and passengers to avoid Saudi airspace. Saudi authorities had not confirmed the attack or any damage. In the early hours of Wednesday, Saudi Civil Defense issued a warning about a potential hazard in the Riyadh region and later declared it over, and the Indian embassy announced the death of an Indian citizen wounded in the October 10 attack on the airport.

The blockade began with the seizure of al-Turbah, a town in the far southwest of the governorate, cutting the city’s main artery to Aden and the outside world. The United Nations (UN) has repeatedly warned of a catastrophe inside the city, where supplies of food and medicine are becoming increasingly scarce.

According to Reuters, in a report republished by The Jerusalem Post, the advance brings the Houthis closer to Aden than at any point since the early months of the war in 2015.

Two other drones, one in the Eastern Province and another heading toward the southern region, were intercepted and destroyed, according to coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki. Saudi Arabia has accused the Houthis several times of targeting Mecca and Medina, accusations the group systematically rejects.

The raids are small in scale and have hit border posts in the kingdom’s rugged, mountainous southwest.

The 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia has been postponed by almost a year, and the tournament is now scheduled from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Tuesday.

Yemen’s government army said it had carried out 1,208 military operations against Houthi positions and claimed to have “neutralized” around 370 commanders and militants.

Yemeni authorities have warned civilians about sniper fire from the surrounding hillsides.

The International Organization for Migration said fighting had displaced around 134,000 people in Taiz governorate, almost half of the more than 319,000 displaced across western Yemen, in figures dated November 1.

Niku Jafarnia, Yemen researcher at Human Rights Watch, said the Houthis had blocked fuel, water and medical supplies, “basically all things required for hospitals to function properly”. The latest WHO Health Cluster situation report records at least 1,677 people killed and 7,395 injured in Yemen as of October 25.
